What is SSNAP?

The Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP) is a national project covering England, Wales and Northern Ireland. SSNAP measures:

  • the quality of care provided to stroke patients (clinical audit)
  • the structure of stroke services (organisational audit)

against national stroke care standards and guidelines. SSNAP creates reports to highlight the areas where  stroke care teams are doing well and where they need to improve.
