What the RCP does with your data

The personal information we collect during membership application, registration or subscription to a service is held and used according to the Data Protection Act 1998.

The RCP will:

  • Maintain records on your eligibility as a member or fellow, in order to provide you with products, services and information on RCP activities.
  • Share information across RCP departments to improve our communications and services.
  • Share information with appropriate third parties* in order to improve clinical practice, medical training and our services.
  • Disclose personal details to appropriate suppliers, in order for you to take advantage of any discounts on products and services offered by the RCP’s partners
  • Only release your information in accordance with your mailing preferences. Please contact the membership team at: membershipqueries@rcplondon.ac.ukto amend your mailing preferences.
  • Not sell your details to any third parties.

The MRCP (UK) central office will:

Retain information for monitoring training, research and statistical analysis, in data comparisons to verify qualifications and to prevent fraudulent activity.

The RCP enquiry service will:

  • Retain full details of all enquiries for two years for administrative purposes and aggregate data thereafter for statistical purposes
  • Share information with RCP departments for the purpose of providing full responses to enquiries and to improve RCP communications and services
  • Not share data with any third parties.
